REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
Suppose materials cost $6, labor $5, packaging $1.50, seller-paid shipping $4, percentage fees 6.5%, fixed fees $0.25, and target margin 30%. The calculator solves for a price that covers these assumptions. If the result is too high for your market, test lower costs, a different shipping arrangement, or a different target margin instead of guessing.
HOW IT WORKS
Start with costs, then account for selling fees and the margin you want to keep.
Include materials and the labor that actually goes into one item.
Packaging, seller-paid shipping, and similar per-order costs belong in the calculation.
A target margin changes the selling price rather than simply adding a percentage to cost.
FORMULA
Knowing the formula makes it easier to adjust the tool to your own business model.
FAQ
Use the fee inputs that match your own shop. Platform fees can vary by seller, location, payment setup, and other circumstances, so this calculator keeps those assumptions editable.
Include the portion of shipping that you pay from your own revenue. If the buyer pays shipping separately and it fully covers your shipping cost, you can leave seller-paid shipping at zero.
Markup is calculated from cost. Margin is calculated from selling price. A 100% markup produces a 50% margin before other selling costs.
If percentage fees plus your target margin reach 100% or more, there is no mathematical price that can satisfy those assumptions. Lower the fee estimate or target margin.
